Ouch..falling off hurts!

Well Nala is now well on her way to being a riding horse and today we were cantering on the lungeline for the first time and her but went out and I failed to use my outside leg and then her head got pulled by the lunge line. The next thing I know she is going down, so I think bail so we do not get tangled or anything....well by the time I was in full dive off the horse mode she was back on her feet, so it turned into a very painful fall. My left hip/pelvis is killing me and I can barely walk. The sad part is that I shoud not of fallen off. :P O well I got the first fall off Nala over which is kinda nice. Nala was okay from the incident. She scraped her leg but nothing bad, but she was holding it up like she was hurt. She trotted out just fine, so she is okay. I on the other hand am not completely okay. I had to go home early from work and have been doing the icing thing so far. I felt bad as it was the other working students day off so the barn owners were left to care for 42 horses all by themselves. I hope to be able to work tom and at least hop back on Nala for a walk around as I was unable to get back on her today.

Ug, I hate falling off/

I hate it too and the only two times I've come off since I started riding again in 2003 were the same thing...horse bit the dust and so did I. It's like, stay on your FEET, ponies!

Take some Advil. Hope you feel better soon.

Ouch!!! :( Sorry you got hurt!

This is exactly why i have been waiting to introduce canter w/ human on aboard to Cassie- i just have this feeling she'll do the same thing- lose her butt and that i'll do something reactive and dumb resulting in an unplanned dismount.

Baaah. I'm such a chicken. LOL.
