Vet Check for Syd tomorrow

Postby rdafler on Fri Jan 18, 2008 6:10 pm

Sydney is loving being at the barn and of course is getting totally spoiled. Her and I are actually taking lessons with Jen. So on Thursday Jen comes to the barn for another boarder so we are sharing lesson times. Sydney is doing sooooooo awesome I am so proud of her.

So tomorrow my Vet is coming to the barn as I am having Sydney's teeth checked, as I am not sure when or if she has had her teeth floated. I am also going to have her listen to her heart mumur that was found with her vet check done by her first adoptive family. The other thing that has really been bothering me are the little balls under her skin. As you all remember her injury in December of 06, there were antiboitic balls put in under the skin. The antibiotics were released but the balls that they were in are permanant. Anyone who meets Syd for the first time always asks me what happened and why she has 3 lumps under the skin. I have to say for some reason it is really starting to bug me.....I don't know why. So anyhow I am going to have Lisa give me her opinion on the situation and if we should remove the balls. So after her vet check tomorrow I will update everyone one what Lisa has to say and if we need to do Miss Syd's teeth.

I need to get Patience and Billy checked also, but they will have to be at next payday. Julie has Patience ever had her teeth done? I am sure she will be due, so I want to make sure they all have happy healthy teeth. :D :D

All went well for Syd today with a clean bill of health. Her teeth are great and nothing needs to be done. Of course we will need to recheck in 6 months. But I was glad to hear that since I have had her a year and she is still good to go. As far as the balls from the antibiotics in her wound area, well Lisa said to leave them be. Because of the scar tissue that has built up around them it is just best to not mess with them. So I guess I will just have to get over I just hope that Patience and Billy come back with just as good of news as Syd. :D :D

I'm so glad to hear that Syd is doing so well. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. As you know, yes she had her teeth floated. She also had a wolf tooth removed.

Please give her some hugs for me. She's such a sweet girl, just need a more experienced rider. :D
