Adopted!!!

B is a 9 year old red roan gelding. He was captured as an unhandled stallion on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. With 60 days training and lots of love and gentling under his belt, watch as he gains more confidence and experience to bloom into a perfect riding horse!

Adopted!!!

B has been lucky enough to find the most perfect family to adopt him. I received a phone call over a week ago from a gentleman named Rex, who was interested in my "paints", and possibly Shammy.

When he arrived with his wife and 15 year old daughter, Mandy, they all immediately fell in love with B. They were looking for a horse for their daughter's 16th birthday next month, and wanted to know if B would be a good fit.

Since that time, I have spent almost everyday working with Rex and his family and B, making sure they all get along well, understand his history, understand how to work with him, as well as his training needs. On Sunday, Mandy spent quite a few hours with B and I, as I showed her the best way to saddle him, lunge him, bridle him, mounting and riding. Mandy has ridden quite a bit on her friend's horses, but has never had a horse of her own. Mandy's personality very much matches B's, making them both alot alike! :) Quiet, respectful, very friendly and easy going. :) I can't wait to see the two of them blossom together!

My first thought was one of unsureness about adopting B to a family who was relatively new to horses (though Rex was VERY involved in horses as a teenager). With B's history, I wanted to make sure no one got hurt. However, I have not had any issues with B since he's been in training with me and have had many different people ride him in many different situations. Since I have had the opportunity to work with every member of the family with B, I feel they will be fine with him.

I do intend to stay in close contact with them to help them with any situations that may arise. While they were here meeting B, they also fell in love with Sydney and Baby and have decided to adopt them as well. After viewing their property (which is 12 beautiful rolling green grassy acres!!!), getting to know them, and learning that one of their references on their adoption application is a friend of mine, I am confident this is a wonderful match! I am ever-so-grateful that they have chosen to give my horses a loving forever home!

And to make an incredible situation even better, the adoption fee for B has gone to Sarah, B's previous owner, in an effort to give her an opportunity to find a safe horse for her. This is a win/win situation all the way around!

Here are some images of Mandy and I working with B on Sunday, as well as the all of us taking a quick break to go ride up in the hills behing my pasture, then rinsing them off since it was so hot out! :)

That is such great news. It would not have happened without all the hard work you put into those horses. You've done a wonderful job and it shows!

Juliane did an incredible job. B is in a wonderful home and has proven him self a good natured, capable horse and I have peace of mind knowing that, and some much unexpected funds to invest in a new equine friend of my own.

I have never known a more caring person, in regards to her equine rescues, as well as her human ones

Thank you Juliane, for all you have done. Sarah

B and his new girl look to be a perfect fit! I had the priviledge of meeting this family last night and they are every bit as wonderful as Juliane's says and then some! They all waded in to help and were great with the horses and juliane's daughter Cassidy as well- these horses have landed in an incredible spot!
