Connor's date with the dentist!

14h, 8 year old, bay pony gelding. The FLO picked this horse up from an Indian Reservation and was told that he was wild. The FLO owner decided to hold him back for now, so he halter broke him. This guy is a little resistant to having the halter put on but once it is on, he walked calmly and obediently behind him.

Connor's date with the dentist!

Dr. Bob Deward of NW Equine came out yesterday morning to float Connor's teeth. Mr. Connor-Man had some serious hooks and other issues with his mouth. Dr. Deward was pretty certain Connor had never been floated before, though he was young enough that it would be easy to get his mouth back in shape.

I was very surprised at how well Connor behaved with Dr. Deward and his assistant, Julie. Connor stood perfectly as his sedative was administered, and then for his floating.

This was my first vet appointment with Dr. Bob Deward - and while I've heard many good things about him, his obvious love for the horses was heart-warming to see. After working on Connor, I talked him into coming down to meet Ace. Dr. Deward completely captured my heart when he immediately went in and kissed Ace on the nose! *sigh* He's certainly not bad on the eyes either! ;)

Sigh- yes I fel in love with Dr. Bob when he took a sleeping Sarge's head in his lap and just hung out with him for a few minutes in my front pasture......the hard thing is that i happen to have had a little birdie cough that he is dating Julie......sigh. But if we all spent the time with him that she does would we blame her? Hate her maybe(NOT - she is the sweetest EVER) but we would not blame her!! LOL I wish them both well!

All the good ones are taken... :D

You can see how bad Connor's teeth look in the beginning just from the pictures. That's great that he was so cooperative!

Aww my fave vet! We call him DR HOTTIE! He was just out a few weeks ago an did Cabos teeth. He also was amazing with my Arab last year when he got hurt. He even balwed his eyes out when he put my Arab down last October. He is amazing with every horse he works with. Very patient and calm. He is the only vet I will use now!

I bet Connor is happy to have his mouth normal again! Give him some treats for me. He diserves them!

Connor didn't have any wolf teeth :? so, no, we didn't pull them :P

Dr. Deward felt it was likely because they fell out on their own, which he said is what is supposed to happen. :)
