OK, we totally figured out the way to Connor's heart tonight

14h, 8 year old, bay pony gelding. The FLO picked this horse up from an Indian Reservation and was told that he was wild. The FLO owner decided to hold him back for now, so he halter broke him. This guy is a little resistant to having the halter put on but once it is on, he walked calmly and obediently behind him.

Wish I would have had the camera. Katie and Jessica (Chanel and Halston's adopters) were scratching his withers on both sides and he was in ecstasy! His little lips were wiggling, wiggling, wiggling like crazy. I have to get some video of this, you guys will die laughing.

I am also told he likes both butterscotch and peppermint flavored horse treats equally. In case anybody was worried, he's still getting plenty of spoiling over here! :)

Oh, he's like the barn pet already. Everybody loves him. People stop me in the aisles and go "OMG he's SO CUTE!" all the time.

We worked on trotting over an X yesterday. Trot over it he did. He didn't think it was big enough to have to jump, but that's OK. As long as they go over, at this point I don't care a bit. He got mega scratches and love for going over nice and straight. I am also working on his canter on the longe line - he is still kind of scrambly with it and I want him to figure out how to canter a circle and balance with his own weight first before he has to do it with my butt on top of him too. :)
