Amigo Now At Rest

15 year old 14hh sorrel Peruvian Paso gelding by Regalo de Dios, foaled June 1991. Amigo was gelded when he was 3 and was always easy to handle up until the last few years, where he has not been handled at all. SAFE is assisting his owners in finding him a new home.

Oh, Elaine, I am so sorry that he wasn't able to go on to a long life in a wonderful new home. I've followed your story with your horses since you were first connected with SAFE. You did a very, very good job of always putting the welfare of the horses over any personal issues. You always did what was best for them. Thank goodness they were with you. Amigo's fate could have been so very much worse, but for your love and devotion. My heart breaks for your loss, but Amigo was never in a position where he had no one who loved him looking out for him.

Elaine,

My heart goes out to you. I know it was hard, but take heart in the fact that he truly is running free now. I know that very sentiment is what makes me at peace with the decision I made just about 2 weeks ago myself. Amigo and Ariel are running with all of the others that have crossed that Rainbow Bridge. They are now healthy and happy and free.

Sincerest condolences.
