Mi Amigo's Introduction

Mi Amigo is a purebred (no papers) chestnut Peruvian Paso gelding by Regalo de Dios, foaled June 1991, approx. 14.2-15h. Amigo was gelded when he was 3 and was always easy to handle up until the last few years, where he has not been handled at all. SAFE was able to catch him, trim all four feet, give him shots, and worm him. He was fairly easy to handle considering how long it has been since he has been handled, but did pull away from his handler when startled and will need some further ground work, although he should come around fairly easily once removed from his current situation. He is not broke but has a very fancy gait and is an excellent riding prospect.

Adoption fee: $400. References, adoption contract required. Located in Arlington, WA.

I am so glad him and his herd got placed. I had been trying to help the owner place them for a while. Didnt get any more emails back a few months ago so I started looking on a bunch of rescues pages and found them at SAFE. Thank you so much for helping these guys. I cant wait to see the work Julie does with him. Purvians are so beautiful, right after Arabs! I would adopt on in a heartbeat but my two are costing me to much right now! lol.

What actually happened is that SAFE is helping the owner provide for them financially until they can be placed. This guy is in training now and I believe at least one other is in line?

It's really working out well to resolve the situation without the horses ending up in a bad place. I know SAFE is still in need of donations to keep providing feed for the others until they are can paypal to them at
