Buddy's Expenses - PLEASE HELP!

Postby Juliane on Sat Feb 03, 2007 5:04 pm

Here is an estimate on Buddy's expenses, current and future, as well as what has already been paid for:

Rice Bran: $14 (donated by Becky/Sydney's adopter)
Farrier/Trim: $30 (donated by Juliane)
Wormer: $5 (donated by Juliane)
SandClear: $20 (donated by Juliane)
Banamine: $41 (donated by Juliane)
SMZ's: $20 (donated by Juliane
Feed & Board: $150/mo (donated by Juliane)
Gas To Pick Up Buddy In Ephrata: $85 (donated by Juliane)

Upcoming Enucleation Surgery on February 8th: $1,000-1,200

We currently have approximately $300-350 raised from generous supporters for this surgery. Chelsea and I expect to take quite a financial hit, but would be most appreciative of any donations that anyone can offer!

Donations can be made via Paypal at juliane_hanley@hotmail.com or to the vet's office directly at:

Northwest Equine Veterinary Associates, PS
425-432-1914
Maple Valley, WA

Thank you everyone for your support!!!

As I said on the tstb board, I will be using my credit card today to put $100 on Buddy's account for his surgery.

Juliane, did you get the $40 money order I sent a while ago?

I figured you would want to keep track of any donations on here.

Thank you so much for doing this for Buddy. I didn't realize his eye surgery would be that expensive. No wonder it was never done.

We could shop around and get it done for less but at this point it needs to be done right and Dr. Latimer has done enough of these to make him the right choice for Buddy. I think long term paying for a skilled vet up front saves you on recovery time and expense and time under sedation as he will be put under GA for the procedure. I know it is a fine line of judicious use of donated funds but as I expect to be paying a large portion of them it is something Juliane and I have agreed is the right thing to do. Remember that I and others offered to pay to have it done previously so expense is not the reason it was not done by his previous owner.

Thanks Seahorse for explaining why the surgery is expensive. Of course, I understand. If that is the type of quote the previous owner got from her vet, I can see why she would NOT want to have it done. That is expensive and I guess she figured the money would be better spent on another horse. No matter. I'm just glad it is getting done and with everyone pitching in, the expense should not be a burden to any one particular person. Thank God The Budsman has a lot of wonderful "aunties" caring for his needs. :D

Juliane

I just talked to Julie at the vet's office and put $100 on account for Buddy's eye surgery using my credit card. Just so you know and can add it to the amount you have received so far toward his surgery.
