Buddy's Current Needs

Juliane, can you make a list of all of his current needs so that we can try to fulfill them; i.e., vet wrap, bute/banamine, salve.......shavings, stuff like that. Thanks. :D

Thanks for asking, Marilyn! Right now, Buddy's needs are fairly light!

He is getting Banamine for the next 3 days, and SMZ's for the next two weeks - however, these supplies were included in his surgery price, so I have them ready at hand.

His bandage will come off on Monday, and once it's off, I am not to put anything on the injury, just lightly clean if it's dirty. So, no need for vet wrap or salve at this time.

With Buddy being stall bound, I am going through 2 bags of stall pellets every 2-3 days. I am also still trying to put weight on him, so he's getting 3-4 large flakes of orchard grass hay morning and night, as well as 2 scoops orchard grass pellets and 2 scoops SafeChoice grain morning and night. So, those are my biggest needs.

I'm also thinking I'd like to worm him again in a week or two, perhaps with something other than Ivermectin. Maybe Strongid or something?

So, that's about it. I just need to keep my stall pellets, hay and grain supplies filled, and we are good to go! :)

Thank you for asking! :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention... what he really needs is attention and loves! He's going stir crazy in his stall, so if anyone out there has any extra time and wants to come brush Buddy, or take him for walks, he and I would both be VERY appreciative :)
