Wednesday: I feel absolutely terrrible.
An off nite for Class

Literally.
I met her in the pasture, and to be honest, i wasn't paying much attention while leading her up to the barn. Then i saddled her up with my western saddle, and proceeded to work on some real quiet ground work- just basic stuff, no longeing or anything.
Well, then i got on her and started walking. She was doing pretty well, and i thought i felt an odd step here or there- but chalked it up to "green horse" balance issues. I asked her to trot and i definitely felt like the left front was off.
I thought maybe it was my saddle swap- i did switch saddles, trying my western saddle on her in preparation for our trailride on Saturday. So i thought maybe she felt like it was weird, or that it didnt fit right, though i checked it all over when i first tacked up and again before i got on and it looked just fine.
By then my friend came over and i asked her to video us so I could see what was going on.

hard to see, i apologize, my friend didnt know to zoom- but i saw enough, especially at the end, to see she was off. I hopped off- no part of her leg, hoof, or anything felt hot or was swollen. took the saddle off- nothing was digging into her back. so i cold hosed her leg. turned her back out. when she came back up to the gate during turn-in, i saw she was in fact lame without a rider. Still no heat, no swelling. Just an ouchy step. Not 3 legged lame, lower grade than that- just ouchy on the left front.
So now i feel terrible. Hopefully she just did something silly and she'll be fine tomorrow. The girls do go running through their pasture- and i do know that there was a spreader machine thingie in their sacrifice lot today, spreading a new load of hogsfuel- maybe the girls got excited and took off or something at the sight/sound of that machine? I dont know. I need a pony-cam.
In any case, i'm keeping a super close eye on this. Hopefully it'll be resolved quickly.
