Looking for a GREAT home

Dear Cabo is looking for a new home with the perfect partner due to my recent illness. I can no longer keep multiple horses so am trying to downsize my herd.

Cabo is a great mature grade Morgan gelding- 14.2-.3 liver chesnut and somewhere between 15-18 yrs of age with many many years left ahead of him. He's 100% sound and up to date on all hoof (he's barefoot), dental, vaccinations, deworming, etc. Cabo is a relatively easy keeper and his new home must keep an eye on his grass consumption if he's not in a regular exercise program. Though never laminitic or foundered, Cabo is leans to the pudgy side and could very likely go down that path if left unchecked. Cabo gets along with most horses though sometimes chases mares who like to run. He also likes to be turned out by himself and has been in many pasture and turn-out situations with little problem.

Cabo knows how to bathe, clip, load, and tie. He is extremely polite with zero ground vices aside from the occasional "looky" type spook- he shivers in place. Cabo also knows how to longe w/t/c and halt.

Under saddle, Cabo is an awesome mount for the right person. He requires a balanced rider who will not hang on his face to either balance themselves or rate his speed. He can walk/trot/canter both on a contact as well as a loose rein, and also knows his lead changes. He knows how to move laterally as well. His most recent endeavor has been in the dressage arena- Cabo has been excelling at his new career, in fact, he is slated to go to his first dressage show later this month. :D His rider must be intermediate level or higher- due to his sensitivity he is not listed as a beginner or husbands horse. He can get nervous under saddle and be intimidated by leg pressure, but is improving by leaps and bounds with our dressage work.

Cabo also enjoys riding in the outdoors- has many trail riding experiences from his previous home, and I have personally ridden him out as well. He has also been my pony horse with success though probably needs a refresher course in that area.

If you are interested in Cabo, please PM me with your additional questions or to schedule a visit.

Thank you!
