Rory's funny habit!

This gorgeous black stud was part of the bucking stock string that was at the Yakima Feedlot in December. Will enter training the beginning of May 2006.

Rory's funny habit!

Postby Juliane on Mon Jun 19, 2006 8:44 pm

Rory has retained a hilarious habit that I can only attribute to his being a stud for so long and in turn, being territorial about "his" area. To this day, he poops and pees in one area of his paddock. He is very neat and tidy, but by the end of the day, he has built up one large pile of poop, while everything else remains perfectly clean :P

It'll sure be nice if he keeps this "habit". :) He doesn't act studdy at all now and could care less about the mares, even when they are in heat. But he definitely still has to mark his territory

Poo Piles

Postby Tockita on Mon Jun 19, 2006 11:10 pm

LOL Chester our "little" stang does that! But not in the middle. He has a whole yard in which Sassy and Symphony were happy to poo anywhere. Until Chester he goes into the corral all the way against the back fence to poo. So I have to rake it out of the corner, and out of the corral when I drag the yard!

I'm thinking about rounding out the corral a bit and let him create a nice soft "natural" footing for it!

Chester is in the 14.2-14.3 range right now at 3, and except for running Beth over to escape the evil whip woman at the show he's been a pretty steady mannered boy. The fact that he would lay down and roll a few minutes later, right outside the arena gate, with a class in it! loudspeaker, strange horses & people restored my faith in him. (he just waited for evil whip woman to walk away and relaxed as soon as she did!) He parked out so nice, and was looking GREAT when he was on "alert" until she walked away. I overhead one lady asking her horses why he couldn't learn to stand "Just like that" We wouldn't have a clue how to make Chester stand that way, he just does!
