Meeting a prospective new owner!

This gorgeous black stud was part of the bucking stock string that was at the Yakima Feedlot in December. Will enter training the beginning of May 2006.

Meeting a prospective new owner!

Rory and I went to a local arena today so that Rory could meet a prospective new owner. It was incredibly hot out today, so Natalie, Nikki and I decided to make the best of it and play in the river after we were done.

Rory had his 4th ride under saddle today and was excellent, especially for being in a new environment (arena), working with someone he didn't know, and being around horses he didn't know. I walked and trotted him as we did circles, serpentines, halts and backed up.

When we headed for the water, Rory was eager to take the lead through the narrow trails and didn't even hesitate when we got to the water's edge!

I absolutely love this guy and hope he found his forever home today! :) Here's a few pics of he and I, oh, and his possible new owner, Noelle, as she worked with him :)

He is so incredibly beautiful. These true, shiney blacks are pretty rare; especially with his temperament. I'd be surprised if he languishes for long waiting for a home.

I have had a few like that in my past...the kind that go, oh okay, we're going to ride now? Cool. No problem.

Sometimes they just never give you a moment's resistance. They just are fine with everything.

It's always a pleasure!

Noelle has decided that now is not the time to purchase Rory. She seemed to like him alot, and felt he'd be a good fit for her program, however, this was assuming she would be "sharing" him with her 12 year old pal, Sam. Unfortunately, she didn't realize Sam was already committed to another. So, Noelle couldn't quite justify taking in another horse if she couldn't spend that much time with him.

So, for anyone who is out there thinking about giving this guy a forever home, please let me know! He's just waiting for you!!! :)
