Learning to enjoy being groomed!

This gorgeous black stud was part of the bucking stock string that was at the Yakima Feedlot in December. Will enter training the beginning of May 2006.

Learning to enjoy being groomed!

Tonight I pulled Rory out to brush and curry him down. I'm temporarily unable to do "harder" work with the horses as I recover from my serious concussion, but still feel the need to be with them, even if it's just brushing :) I think it helps me heal!

Anyhow, I tied Rory up and proceeded to curry him with my multi-pronged rubber curry comb. This was the first time he's "enjoyed" his brushing! He stretched out, his neck arched and let his lip go to town. It was too cute! Each day, Rory's personality becomes more adorable and evident! :)

Once I was done brushing him until his coat gleamed, I decided to grab the saddle and set it on his back. He was a perfect gentleman, and though nervous about it being placed on his back, he stood quietly! And boy oh boy! Did he look CUTE with an english saddle on him! I can just see him being a perfect child's 4H mount! I can't wait to start him under saddle!

Well, he wasn't being groomed, but today I went out to the paddock to catch him. In the beginning, he would run from me. Now he comes up to me and asks for loves. Here he is enjoying a quick scritch from me :)
