Preparing to meet her new mommy!

Emma got a pedicure today as she got ready to meet her new mommy tomorrow. She is getting picked up at 11am on Monday morning!

Amazingly, she was very good for Dan. When Dan trimmed her initially, Emma was very, very scared. I believe it took us over 2 hours to get her front feet done. We never got her hind feet done. Today, she picked up her front feet almost automatically, though took a bit longer to get her back feet done.

She was really nervous about picking her back feet but didn't take much to understand what we were doing. Dan was amazing with her! At first he simply worked with her on picking up her feet for a second or two at a time, then releasing it and giving her lots of praise.

Emma did so well with this that she stood pretty well, with only a few short panic attacks, as Dan did her hind feet. I was so proud of her!

When Dan was done, I took her out to graze on the green grass. It was the first time she's really seemed comfortable in my presence and allowed herself to chomp on the grass for about 20 minutes.

I'm going to miss this beautiful girl, but am looking forward to hearing updates about her with her new mom! Just knowing Emma has a home of her own is enough for me :)

Such good news! I can't wait to see pics of her settled in at her new home. It sounds like a wonderful place for her to be. :)

Came across this quote...made me think it was written just for Emma <albeit a very long time ago>

"Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses.
Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC) "

Safe journey Emma :)
