Emma's second day

Postby Epona on Tue Sep 12, 2006 5:59 pm

This morning I went out to the pasture to feed and low and behold, no ponies anywhere. It was just about time to panic when I saw them, standing so cute together, in the thick of the trees at the top of our hill, dozing in the morning rays that were making their way through the trees. Very cute! I called them down and Peach came first, followed by Emma. I put their hay over the fence and both came up to be fed, Emma showing no fear, came right up to me. I then went and got the sheep out of the barn and put them in for breakfast. A couple hours later I wandered out and Emma let me walk right up to her and pet her nose, rub her neck, and run my hand over her back at liberty. I then held her halter and walked her around a bit. Then a treat for a reward. I was really expecting a basket case like Lulu was, and am pleasantly surprised that she is so desperate for a leader that she will look past her fear for comfort. I use Pony Boy method, which is excellent in my opinion. I've used it each time I've interacted with her, just a way of communicating with her without pushing her. She has responded by showing me that she wants a leader to protect her (lowering her head, licking her lips, following me). Very nice for a second day :)

Way to go Emma :)

Epona, I have a pic of Emma from the lot saved.... I can post<if it's ok with the powers that be  > and you can post a current one <if it's ok with the powers that be :D >

The transformation must be amazing to someone who has not been following Emma , but then actually, it's still amazing 8)

I know this mare is going to make such progress that it's going to shock everybody. I have always had a good feeling about her. Epona, I'll bet she's a pocket pony in three months' time.
