Playing with a tarp

This gorgeous black stud was part of the bucking stock string that was at the Yakima Feedlot in December. Will enter training the beginning of May 2006.

Playing with a tarp

After working with Sydney tonight, I decided to pull Rory out just for the 'heck of it'. I didn't have any plans for him, just thought I'd play with him some. We trotted around the yard a bit, playing tag. It was the first time he's actually played with me while on a lead rope. I could tell he was getting wound up and really just wanted to go run and buck.

I headed over to the round pen and let him loose with Ace. Instead of my normal request that they free lunge, I would crouch down and pretend like I was going to chase Rory. He *loved* this! His tail went straight up, he tossed his nose in the air a few times and took off. Before long, all three of us, Rory, Ace and I were playing chase. Both Rory and Ace were completely full of it, with their tails flying high, bucking, twisting and snorting with every lap. It was awesome. I was laughing and giggling so hard at times I thought I was going to lose control of my bladder. I wish my camera hadn't died!

Anyhow, after letting the two of them play for a bit and then cooling out Rory, I decided to take him over to the tarp. As I stood there fiddling with my camera, begging it to take one last picture, Rory stood there completely relaxed. I was able to snap one last picture but just as I was done, Rory walked across the tarp like it was nothing.

This boy is awesome and very sensible :)
